The Principal is Missing
The principal is missing
He's nowhere to be found.
the teachers tried to page him,
and they've hunted all around.
He isn't in the staff room.
He isn't in the gym,
and all the kids are wondering
just what's become of him.
We've looked in every classroom.
We've peeked in every hall.
We've even checked the bathrooms
and inspected every stall.
He isn't in his closet.
He's not behind his door.
He isn't underneath his desk
or hiding in a drawer.
If you should see Mr. Etheridge,
Please send him back our way.
So we can wish him all the best
on this very special day.
Please tell him that we'll miss him.
And as he's going out,
let him know he is the best
... without a doubt!
(based on a poem by Kenn Nesbitt)
We also sang a song at the end with the whole school. The song was about our school missing Mr Etheridge when he retires. It was to the tune of Zipadee-doo-dah.
Some students remember Mr. Etheridge playing basketball with them. He kept missing the hoop each time, but at the end, he scored! When we had trouble, Mr. Etheridge helped us know what was wrong. He always tried to help us figure out our problems. When other students were mean, Mr. Etheridge would talk with the bullies and make us feel better. Mr. Etheridge also played soccer with us, and students even scored on him! Mr. Etheridge even dressed up as a chicken when the magician came and did a trick! One year for Halloween, he dressed up as a genie. When asked if he granted wishes, he said he did!
At the retirement assembly, we liked the video that showed Mr. Etheridge dancing :) It was funny!
We think Mr. Etheridge is the best principal in the whole wide world. We will miss him verr-rr-rr-rry much!
Thank you for reading.
Merry Christmas and peace out!
