We read two different versions of the story Stone Soup. An Asian version and a European version. The Asian version had three monks who wanted to bring happiness to a village. The European version had three soldiers that were desperate for food after the war. Both tricked the villagers into making soup and sharing. Happiness came from sharing!
In class Mrs. Kazakoff brought the stone and the big pot and some spices. We all added salt and pepper. And each of us brought a food item to put in the soup. Some of the items included celery, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, pasta, cauliflower, carrots, garlic, oregano, kidney beans, turnip, garlic powder, thyme, and coriander.
Some parents came in to help us cook it. And we all shared it for lunch. MMMMMMMMMMMMM Good!!!
